Govone is a meeting place, a border between the three UNESCO World Heritage territories: Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato, where culture and nature merge.
In addition to the marvelous architecture of the castle, you will also find natural trails amidst historical vineyards and hazelnut groves that you can explore on foot or by bike, giving you the opportunity to discover our hills and admire the valley shaped by the Tanaro River.
As part of the rich schedule of events during the month of May, known as “Regalmente Rosa” (Royally Pink), on Sunday, May 21, two special guided bike tours are scheduled to explore the four natural trails of Govone: Ponte del Re, Chiesa e convento di Craviano, Molino Gerotte, and Cadiliano – Stella – San Pietro.
On the website page https://www.castellorealedigovone.it/i-sentieri-di-govone/ you will find detailed descriptions of the trails and you can download the PDF map and GPX tracks on Komoot.
For the 2023 edition, the bike tour of the trails will be enriched with a special stop at a winery for wine tasting and sampling of local food and wine products.
Here is the PROGRAM of the guided tours:
MORNING
9:15 am meeting point in the square in front of the castle 9:30 am castle visit 10:15 am departure for the bike tour 12:15 pm arrival at the winery + tasting at Produttori di Govone 1:00 pm return
AFTERNOON
2:15 pm meeting point in the square in front of the castle 2:30 pm castle visit 3:15 pm arrival at the winery + tasting at Cantina Ceste 4:00 pm departure for the bike tour 6:00 pm return
